Canada’s corruption scandal
The Captain’s Quarters has a good summary of what is believed to be the details of the huge scandal about to hit Canadian politics. The details are supressed in Canada at the moment.
The bottom line is the left wing Liberal Government allegedly granted tens of millions of dollars in government contracts to advertising firms closely connected with the Liberal government for little or no work, and much of the money found its way back into Liberal coffers.
This is corruption of the highest order, if true, and a snap election is now expected.
Of course some of these details may sound familiar to New Zealanders. In the 1990s it was revealed that the NZ Labour Party General Secretary wrote a memo in the late 1980s to Labour’s Board proposing, yes you guessed it, that the Government grant advertising contracts to Labour’s advertising agency, in return for them not charging Labour for its advertising.
