TV Rantings

As many of my friends know, I love The Apprentice and can’t get enough of it. Comments about reality TV rotting the brain are not needed, as I have plenty to rot thank you 🙂

Someone just showed me an episode of the The UK Apprentice. It is the exact same format as the main The Apprentice. I thought I would also love or at least like it, but I detest it. It is awful. The only difference is that Donald Trump plus his assistants George and Carolyn have been replaced by Sir Alan Sugar and a couple of flunkies whose names I can’t even recall.

But that difference in casting is everything. It changes it from an addictive show, to a nauseating one. I am surprised by how little the format matters, as oppossed to casting. Trump just has presence and charisma which makes the show.

While on the TV front, I should pose a public health warning regarding the 1st episode of the 9th series of Southpark. Now I love Southpark and have almost every episode ever made. But this episode had even me grossed out, and turning away from the screen. The theme is Mr Garrison having a sex change, and you really don’t want to know what they did with the left over parts. It was still very very funny, but not one for the faint hearted.
