Treaty Principles
Winston Peters has been lucky and had his bill abolishing all references to the never defined Treaty of Waitangi principles drawn from the ballot.
Now the bill itself is appallingly drafted as it merely removes the words from every Act it can find, without considering that the amended Acts may no longer make sense. However that is something one can fix at select committee and hence National and ACT will be voting for it.
The real acid is going to go on Labour. They have been making lots of sympathethic noises on this issue, but when it comes to putting your money where your mouth is, will they deliver?
