Over half of all inmates getting a benefit

Of the 6,500 people in a NZ prison, at least 3,762 continued to receive a benefit while behind bars last year.

Surely it should not be that difficult to have a system where those sent to jail automatically have their benefit cancelled. I mean, this is not rocket science.

But hey the more the Government manages to spend, the less pressure on them for tax cuts as they can claim the surplus won’t be big enough.
