More evidence that Police are putting sitting behind speed cameras as more important than, you know, helping crime victims etc.

The Dominion Post reports that a woman whose child was taken during a domestic dispute had to wait for police because the only officers available were on traffic duty.

Even more stupidly, they should not be the “prime reporting unit” to fatal crashes. So if there is a fatal crash, despite being already out on the road, they should not leave their speed trap to go assist, but instead a unit which is still back at HQ will be sent. Absolutely mad.
