The dogs are back

Last week Rodney posted about the case of a young abusive man who quits his job and then wins $10,000 in an employment hearing.

This woke up from his holiday Mr Ben Thomas from Dog Biting Men who knows a bit about the case, and blogs how the problem is though that the couple in question who were the employers never turned up to the court/authority hearing, or even lodge a statement of evidence.

I have my own doubts over some of the employment authority rulings, but if you don’t actually turn up, it is hard to complain. Incidentially this is one of the reasons why it is good as an employer to belong to a branch of Business NZ. They are very useful in cases like this.
