Mark Latham has resigned as both Leader of the Australian Labour Party and MP for Werriwa.

John Howard has now beaten or seen off Paul Keating, Kim Beazley, Simon Crean and Mark Latham. The United States will be very happy if Beazley becomes Leader again as he is probably the most pro-US MP in Australian Labour.
