Nice Maiden Speech

Kenneth Wang gave his maiden speech today. I thought it was a nice positive one.

A part which resonated to me was “As a small business owner I know how tough life can be for the small and medium-sized businesses, which make up 90 percent of all New Zealand’s businesses. For many years I often sacrificed my own wages to pay my staff”

I think a lot of people would be surprised by how common this can be. In one small business I worked for, the owners for many months were paying themselves less than the receptionist, to keep the business going.
