Ahmed Zaoui gets bail

As was widely expected Ahmed Zaoui has been granted bail by the Supreme Court.

Not clear at this point whether it is to Mangere Refugee Centre which the Crown did not oppose or the Dominican Friars which the Crown did.

I don’t think it is a bad thing he has bail. Two years was far too long a period of time to keep someone in prison while resolving his status. Having said that I would still rather he is not given residency here.

UPDATE: I have been told he is bailed to Mangere. Was joked that if anything will scare him off overseas, living there should do it 🙂

UPDATE2: Seems my source is wrong (you’re sacked) and it is to the Dominican Friars. Boy that is a real slap to the Government – effectively saying you have no case at all.
