Secretary of State Rice

The expected appointment of Condoleezza Rice as US Secretary of State will set a number of firsts.

The Secretary of State is regarded as the top ranked cabinet official, and is fourth in line to the Presidency after the Vice-President, the Speaker of the House and the President pro-tempore of the Senate (the last two should not be in line incidentially, in my opinion).

If for some reason Rice ever ended up Preisdent, it would be ironic to have both the first black President and the first women President to be the same person, and to be a Republican.

And if rumours are correct, she might represent another “minority” also. Now that would reallyplay mindgames with liberals and conseratives both!
