Hucker in charge

Dick Hubbard made an impassioned appeal last night for people to respect his role as “captain” of the Council who is “accountable to the people of Auckland, for both the direction and the destination.”

However Fleet Admiral Hucker humiliated him by getting himself “elected chairman of the all-powerful urban strategy and governance committee, which will oversee every important council decision and drive through his policy agenda.”

On behalf of everyone who does not live in Auckland, I’d like to thank Aucklanders for providing such amusement to the rest of NZ.
