Blumsky selected

National has selected unoppossed former Wellington Mayor Mark Blumsky as its Wellington Central candidate.

Blumsky came from obscurity in 1995 to win the mayoralty against 14 other candidates. He was re-elected in 1998 with a huge majority, before retiring in 2001.

His selection will make Wellington Central one of the most keenly fought local campaigns.
