A great reputation
I see on Drudge that former CBSNEWS anchorman Walter Cronkite has said he is “inclined to think that Karl Rove, the political manager at the White House, who is a very clever man, he probably set up bin Laden to this thing”, referring to the Bin Ladin tape just released.
This is the reputation that political activists like me can only aspire to – a degree of cunning, ruthlessness and ability that can so freak out your opponents that they see your hand in every single event that may not be advantageous to them. The Democrats also accussed Rove of being behind the fake CBS documents, as some sort of sting against CBS.
Rove must love it when they see his hand in everything. I met Rove’s 2ic earlier this year in Florida. I am determined to meet him himself next time I am in the US. I would in fact much much rather meet Rove than the President himself.
