111 calls
On Sunday morning I read about the disgraceful one hour delay for Police to respond to a 111 call where Pete Bentley was being stabbed and beaten.
Then driving back to Wellington from Hamilton, we counted on the road no less than 17 police cars!!
And these cars were mainly on roads which are not accident blackspots, on a fine sunny day with great visibility.
It is sheer madness to have New Zealanders waiting an hour for Police to respond to urgent life threatening 111 calls, while having a police car every 25 minutes or so just sitting on the side of a road ticketing people.
The Government has to change priorities.
