Looks promising
David McLoughlin’s report on the first ever Supreme Court case, being Prebble vs Huata, sounds promising.
One should be cautious about reading too much into the tone of the questions (US Supreme Court watchers do this and often get it wrong), but they certainly seemed sceptical that one could be an independent MP, and not be seen to breach proportionality.
It will be a tremendous day when Mrs Awatere-Huata is no longer an MP. Hopefully this may now be a matter of days, not months.
