Dirty Cullen
Hearing Dr Cullen yesterday, I wondered if it was not somewhat Muldoonist to have the Minister of Finance and Revenue suggesting that the tax records of many MPs would not stand up to scrutiny I mean that sounds damn close to “I have youyr SIS record”.
As it transpires I am not alone, with John Armstrong labelling Cullen as “down, dirty and weak“.
Armstrong says that Cullen had a choice as Acting PM of behaving in a statesman-like way, recognising the grave severity of the allegations, or to try and get dirty. And he chose the low path.
The speech was labelled “the weakest speech that Parliament’s best orator has made in a long time”.
