The perfect minority candidate

When discussing the need for a diverse range of candidates for a party, the standard joke is one needs a young, vegetarian, disabled lesbian.

Well the Australian Democrats have actually found the perfect candidate, and have ranked at the top of their ticket for Victoria Jess Healy who was described as a “19-year-old, one-legged lesbian“. Healy points out she is bisexual not lesbian.

Having just done a Google, I’m pleased to say that Jess has her own blog. Good to see candidates blogging, so good luck Jess.
