Majority verdicts

I have been a long time supporter of majority verdicts. However I am reconsidering somewhat after reading this account in the NZ Herald of a jury trial.

Of course Mr Ansley’s point of view, may not be objective. And I also note that the defendent was found guilty in the retrial, so perhaps not a problem after all.

Ackbar at NZ Pundit has some concerns also. Of course as a lawyer Ackbar is only concerned about what will be best for his clients, not about justice 🙂
