Traffic Ticket Quotas

Even the Police Association has now come out and slammed quotas for traffic tickets.

They correctly say that it is compromising other important police work.

The Herald also notes that in the Nelson area where there is a quota of a ticket per officer per hour, fatal crashes have increased. Perhaps they should focus on dangerous driving rather than ticket quotas.

If the quota idea is such a good one, they should bring it in to other areas. Like forgery.
