Take the money

The Government should take back most of the $13 million that Christchurch Polytech made in their Cool IT scam.

It is silly to just make them pay back the $80,000 they paid to get people to sign up for the course, yet keep the $13 million they made from breaking the rules.

The Government paid out $740 per student for a course that only 3% of students completed.

I’m disappointed that student associations have been so silent on this issue. They should be outraged that money which could be used to keep costs down for proper academic courses, has been scammed in this way.
