Drinking Age

It really annoys me to see people claim that the way to deal with 10 – 14 year olds drinking alcohol is to make it illegal for 18 and 18 year olds to purchase alcohol.

Using this logic one should ban sex until the age of 25, as a way to cope with teenage pregnancies.

There are a number of ways to deal with alcohol abuse amongst 10 to 14 year olds. Education, blood testing, parental responsibility laws are some of them. Making it illegal for a 19 year old to go to the pub is not of them.
