Blumsky retires from United Future
The NZ Herald reports that Mark Blumsky has stood down as President of United Future.
The former Wellington Mayor was quite a coup for United Future, as he helped to secularise the party which is widely seen as a more mild version of Christian Heritage. His departure will not be good news for them.
Wellington gossip was that until recently Blumsky was considering standing for United Future in Wellington Central, where he would have been a formidable candidate. I wonder if the dismally low poll ratings for United Future are partially responsible for a change in plans?
