Full Employment

The Dominion Post reports that Mahara Okeroa will be appointed ot the Executive next week as an under-secretary. This will mean full employment for all five male Maori MPs – now that is closing the gaps. I wonder how many people could name all five unprompted? Even I struggled.

So one has Horomia and Tamihere in Cabinet, Samuels as Minister outside Cabinet plus Ririnui and Okeroa as under-secretaries. How could Labour have copes with only 27 members of the Executive – it must have 28 (the largest ever).

Ririnui is so overworked has done no releases or speeches since 12 May. Samuels has managed a whole 10 press releases this year or almost one a fortnight.
